During the final fight between Ellie and Abby, who do you think got the worse injuries? Sure, Ellie lost 2 or 3 fingers, but who was otherwise hurt more?
I'm combining two announcements into one in this post!
First off, Fandom is celebrating Pride Month! Like previous themed months, we're holding roundtable discussions in the official Fandom Discord server; the video game Pride Month roundtable will be on Wednesday, June 15 at 12 PM Eastern. Check out our promotional blog for more information! This year's Pride Month theme is "Love Will Keep Us Together". For The Last of Us, we're promoting both Ellie, Dina, and Lev!
We're also hosting two additional roundtable sessions: one on June 22 at 12 PM Eastern for LGBTQIA+ Icons and Activisits, and one on June 29 at 12 PM Eastern for LGBTQIA+ Fandom Admins. Join us for as many of these as you'd like, and happy Pride Month!
Secondly, The Last of Us Part I was officially announced today at the Summer Game Fest (though it was leaked earlier). It's a PS5 and PC remake of the original The Last of Us, featuring improved graphics, gameplay, and more. As we get more information, you'll find it at our article for the game!
Hi, everyone! I'm here to let you know that Fandom is currently celebrating Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month.
Throughout the month of May, we have been taking the time to celebrate the AAPI community and their significant contributions to American culture—science, sports, activism and entertainment, to name a few.
We have had similar celebration events in the past, but in case this is your first time hearing of this, what we do at Fandom is highlight a number of TV shows, movies, video games, comics, artists, and some of the characters featured in these. There are community roundtables you're welcome to join, and some extra surprises, such as trivia quizzes to participate in.
You can read up on the blog post introducing the event to find out more about the celebration. And if you wish to join, make sure to enter the Fandom Discord server for news and updates on the fun initiatives that are happening!
The characters Lev, Yara, and Jesse from The Last of Us Part II are all featured as part of this celebration! Logged-out readers may see a new quiz on their respective pages to test their knowledge on the characters, based on the contents of the articles!
If you'd like to directly access the quizzes themselves and take them while you're logged-in, click here for Lev's quiz, click here for Yara's quiz, or click here for Jesse's quiz!
AAPI ROUNDTABLE: VIDEO GAMES
This week, we are hosting a roundtable session on AAPI video games, which is an opportunity to share your thoughts on Lev, Yara, and Jesse, as well as other video game characters from the AAPI community!
The roundtable is really simple - you just need to join Fandom's Discord server, and start chatting as much or as little as you want in our #aapi-roundtable channel once it's time for it.
The video game roundtable is happening on May 25, at 9AM PST / 6PM CET - feel free to use the event link and set up a reminder if you'd like!
Theory: Ellie might have spared Abby, but not much later, after reaching the fireflies, Abby was severely weakened by and than died from her injuries whilst in Lev's arms.
With her last few breaths, she tells Lev that everyone she knew and loved died because of her own selfishness and that killing Joel and fighting Ellie and her friends did her no real good and that she herself is nothing but a monster who's eternal suffering and misery was all her own doing.
That it was thanks to Lev and Tara that she finally re-discovered what it's like to love another and be human and that Lev should forget about her and everyone else he ever knew before as he should not follow the path of hate and vengeance as she did.
Right before dying, she makes him promise not to be a monster like her or Ellie, that he'll be strong at heart.
Facts. The last of us 2 is much more sad than part 1 could possibly EVER be (included left behind DLC).
In my opinion TLOU2 was a masterpiece and what I loved the most were those sudden deaths out of nowhere. It came when you expected it the least and that made it so realistic. Jesses death happened so fast. Headshot. End. Yaras death. Shot in the belly. End. Mel and Owen. Bang bang end. All those deaths came out of nowhere while Ellie and Abby had no time to spend with crying and mourning about their friends death. There was no plot armor. Someone got shot he died. Nothing like „oh no I gave him three headshots but he survived“. I was shocked about jesses death so much because I loved him for his loyalty. But there was nothing to do about it. It happened. I loved that TLOU2 showed so much of reality. That it’s hard to really kill someone. It was so hard for Ellie to kill Abby at the end. Not because she’s weak but because she didn’t wanted to be that person anymore. She closed the circle of hatred and revenge. If Ellie would’ve killed Abby, some day lev would come after Ellie and kill her, than few years later Dina would come after lev and so on. Ellie realized that and didn’t kill Abby because killing her would’ve made her exactly like Abby. Abby killed Joel for to avenge her fathers death. Ellie had so much to go through (psychically). So much pain. She left her real family with mr.potatoe and Dina behind, all she had, just for revenge. She lost so much at the end because she wanted to avenge Joel’s, her fathers, death. So killing Abby would’ve caused lev to go through the same pain as Ellie at the end. Lev already felt so bad because he’s the reason his mother, and indirectly Yara died. His only family is Abby and if Ellie killed her, lev would’ve become what Ellie became. Even worse because lev would be without family without friends. That’s why in my opinion TLOU2 Is a theatrical and realistic masterpiece. I loved TLOU1 so much and it was my favorite game. From 2014 on till 2020 I waited for part 2 and got so disappointed when everyone talked so bad about TLOU2, which caused that I didn’t buy it. I didn’t wanted to destroy my imagination of a perfect game. But when I got it and played it, it was such a rollercoaster of emotions. More often going down than up. But I loved and enjoyed it much more than TLOU1. This was also caused by the fact we had to play Abby. When Abby killed Joel we ALL hated her much more than any character in any games. But after going through her past and her adventure it made my sympathize with her. Even though I hate her. Joel was and will always be my one and only favorite character, but I need to admit his past caught him and he got what he deserved after such long time. When I tried to guess who those people were that killed Joel I had so many ideas because Joel fucked a lot of people up. Like Robert the smuggler, the cannibals from the winter arc, maybe she was the daughter of that guy who tried to rape Ellie. But at the end it were the fireflies. that’s it guys. I’m prepared for the hate but that’s my honest opinion. One of the only reasons so many people hate that game is because they didn’t got Joel to play. Most people who hate that game didn’t even played it. They either just watched or heard from it. It’s not the same. I didn’t like that TLOU2 was used as a way to talk about tolerance for modern problems like LGBTQ And trans problems, but it still got to be my fav game. End.
Hey guys, I'm really curious about a thing, I was playing and after the Rat King boss fight, the loading screen changed, usually is a light colored beetween blue and green, I don't know the name of the colour, but this time it came yellow. Does it means something? Or is normal that happen?
I recorded with you want to see:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=atwsWHUX62o
The book Abby is reading on day 1 has a main character named Lev. (Its also not a bad read)
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/City_of_Thieves_(novel)
When does the game mention that Lev is transgender? I just thought the Seraphites named him Lily so that he could act as 'wife' to the elder, but people keep talking about him being transgender. 1st of all I doubt the Seraphites have the technology to change Lev's gender from either male to female or vice-versa. 2nd Lev and his sister only ever bring it up when the Seraphites call Lev 'Lily'. Please someone explain to my ape brain about this.
It was because of lev. btw, i guarantee you dina would have died if lev didnt intervene. now abby took care of him ever since he saved her life. the bond they had was what reminded ellie of joel when she had that flashback for a split second before killing abby. ellie knew the kid needed someone so she let her go.
I mean it’s ridiculous, how unfair and toxic some of the fans are towards Abby, I understand you hate what Abby did but at the same time, she had a good reason, she didn’t just kill Joel for no reason she had a very very good reason to do what she did, yeah killing him wasn’t a good idea but... hey what can you do? And another thing some people are like “oh ya’ll just hate Abby because you hate strong women” it’s not even about that it’s because they didn’t like what she did, I saw a comment that said “Abby is a psychopath, she’s known for her naturally violent behavior” first of all Abby is not a psychopath, she doesn’t have antisocial personality disorder, if she did she wouldn’t have No issue killing Dina in front of lev, not giving a shit how he felt, she wouldn’t care about losing Mel or Owen, and she would’ve just killed Ellie then and there, Abby does have a heart, and I think some of the fans dont see that because “oh fuck abby , she killed Joel, she broke Ellie’s fingers” at this point I get sooo tired of seeing all the hate she’s getting and it’s a annoying, the message is that there is no or bad, both Ellie and Abby are both going through, anger, hate and healing, that’s the message (well one of the messages) and it’s like they don’t wanna see that, all they can think about how “stupid” the ending is and how shit the game is.... like, man it’s sooo irritating...
Hey! I know it’s unclear but i really can’t find a lot of informations on the dates or at least months when the scenes towards the end of the game occurred. I‘m guessing the farm scenes (with JJ and Dina) take place a bit less than 18 months after Seattle (which took place in March 2038) so it’d be during spring/summer 2039? Then Tommy arrives at the farm with his info on Abby in Santa Barbara. This is where I’m stuck. If they made it chronologically in the game, Abby and Lev get captured by the Rattlers after Tommy told Ellie about them. But it might have occurred before because nothing says it didn’t. The next day, Ellie leaves the farm. How long did it take her to get there ? I don’t think she took a horse (or did she?) since she didn’t have one when she got to their boat (it might have died on their way though). Walking to Santa Barbara with no break would take about 14 days. In her journal, it says she stayed in a basement for quite some time, a few days, a week or so i'm assuming? So I'd say it took about a month to get there? But that's just a guess, I really don't know and I'd like to know what you think. And when she arrives, and gets captured by the Rattlers, one of them says they captured Abby a few months ago. But how long is a few months ago ? Does it happen way before Ellie left (so she could've gotten there "fast") unlike what the game makes us think (since we play Abby in Santa Barbara after Ellie decides to leave)? Or does it happen after Ellie left? (in that case, Ellie took a few months to get there so more than what I assumed) Also considering (i don't know if that says anything) the fact that when she gets to Abby and Lev, they're close to die at the Pillars so they've been there for a few day/a week or so i'm assuming?
So I guess my main questions are: How long (or like giving months when certain things happened would be fine too) between the last day at Seattle and the farm with Dina and JJ; and between the farm (Ellie leaving) and getting to Santa Barbara.
Thanks in advance, and also sorry for the messy message.
Throughout The Last Of Us, Left Behind, And The Last Of Us Part II. We play as many different characters. These including:
Joel (Last Of Us Part 1)
Sarah (Last Of Us Part 1)
Ellie (Young) (Last Of Us Part 1, Left Behind,Last Of Us Part 2)
Abby (Last Of Us Part 2)
Ellie (Last Of Us Part 2)
Abby (Young) (Last Of Us Part 2)
I know Naught Dog doesn’t plan to do any DLC or extension with Part 2 and they probably wouldn’t continue off of Part 1 since it’s 7 years old now. But if there ever was any DLC or completely new stories (like in Spider-Man ps4) here are some fun perspectives it would be fun to play as.
Tommy
Throughout The 3 Days in Seattle we Know Tommy Got Ahead Of Ellie And Dina And Jesse. We play the 3 days of Seattle as Ellie. And we see it as Abby and when we play as Abby we see Manny Get sniped by Tommy and Eventually Yara Finishing Him Off. However Tommy could have interesting stories throughout the 3 days too. Obviously Abby Was With The WLFS before switching sides and Helping Lev and Yara. I think it would be cool if we got not just a DLC. But kinda like an extension of the game that’s 10 hours or so. Of Tommy In Seattle. The Last Of Us has shown to have interesting stories with random characters. Like Ellie with the One Guys (can’t remember the names) In the first game. Maybe we could play as Tommy killing Manny. Maybe we could discover a new storyline with her characters. I think Tommy would be a fun character to play as in TLOU2.
Lev
Not Sure If A TLOU3 would happen or not. And I’m not sure what the story would even be about. But if there was I hope we see abby again and we could be able to play as lev. Lev was Sort Of Abby’s Ellie. Like how Joel Had Ellie Abby Has Lev. Lev was a interesting character in Part 2 that I would like to see more of. There subplot was pretty interesting and I would like to see him. Or even better we could see a backstory DLC of him and Yara and in that case We’ll Put
Yara
Same thing as Lev. Potential Backstory DLC. Or maybe we could see Lev And Yara going through the same 3 days. Never Know.
Jesse
I would love to Play As Jesse on one of Ellie And Dina And Jesse’s past patrols. So we could see them younger and see what it’s like. I think Jesse was an interesting character and I was sad to see him die. Hopefully we could see him playable although it’s very unlikely.
Well That’s What I think personally. I would say Dina but Dina was mostly pregnant throughout Part 2. But yeah This is all a wishlist. None of this will probably happen. This is just some other perspectives I would want. What about you guys? Comment Below! See ya!
An iconic sequence in the game. Although arguably the entire game is unforgettable.

So I watched a playthrough and reached the place where Yara tells about Lev and how 'he' was appointed as some elder's wife.
Now at first I was like "Okay so they(Seraphs) are basically disgusting swines who take little kids of both genders as 'wives' and nobody lifts a finger. Ew." But then I stopped and thought "No, that's too weirdly progressive or something, even for games". Then I got here looking for an answer and the whoooole way down it says "HE". Now I was extremely confused, but eventually figured it out by puzzling around with context, so fine, okay. Fair.
What bothers me is the internet culture of being so masochistically scared of even mildly offending a person with a specific orientation that there can't even be a proper explanation saying "Lev was actually born a girl, named Lily, but felt different, and in an uproar against traditions cut - her - hair". I mean please. Just please.
Not out for blood, just wanna hear opinions. I respect every person for what they are, but to walk on glass for someone is never a thing I would do.
Ellie didn't kill Abby not only for the memory but for Lev, because he would feel the same feeling she felt when Abby killed Joel, i think she made the right choice.
(i hope you see the image)
P.S.
1.When Abby see Ellie, she feel like she is watching a mirror but she was seeing the weak Abby
2.Tommy say to Abby the name of Joel and if he lied she would finds out, they saved her life, so Tommy let his guard down, but Joel don't, when they closed door he knew he was fucked.
3. Joel don't know who is Abby because he killed too many people and he is visibly confused, he was hoping for a name but no, so he just say basically, you know I don't know who the hell are you but if you want to kill me just do it
