Honestly? I'm not surprised. Mental health issues (like ADHD and autism) are rather under-diagnosed in women for some reason. Hopefully they can get the help that they need to manage their diagnosis
@Swedgin You said it better than I could have. While the wiki side of the fandom is a bit slow for now, Reddit is still quite active. Some of the TLOU -inspired scale models I have seen over there are very well done!
If you mean the Indonesian scientist from the HBO series, I think that was Ratna Pertiwi
I'm not sure we should remove the links if they are dead/inactive. Maybe it would be possible to add a note in the References section and/or a link to an archive of some kind?
I'll wait to see what the other admins and mods have to say about this, though
@Swedgin Actually, you make a good point about Ellie being "brainwashed" by the Fireflies. Maybe Marlene and some members of the Fireflies were manipulating her new immunity to the CBI while she was with them before Joel and Tess agreed to take her out of Boston?
@Swedgin Good catch. I'm surprised nobody else caught that before now.
If an average adult is capable of walking 20 miles in a day, it would have taken Ellie at least 50 days to make it back to Jackson. And that is if she walked every day. If she had to rest/resupply or backtrack, the trip could easily take longer
While Abby has lost everything twice (her father to Joel, and her friends to Ellie), I'm not sure how I feel about her redemption arc. Yes, she did turn her back on everyone she ever knew to save Lev, but what she did to Joel and who knows how many others must be taken into consideration as well
Do you mean in the game, or in the show? The prologue of the first game is in 2013, and the bulk of it takes place in 2033. The HBO series changes the setting of the prologue to 2003, and the rest of the series takes place in 2023
Factions in the original game was fun, but it was somewhat tricky to keep the game feeling "fresh" in order to maintain player engagement. I still say having Infected spawn randomly on maps could be a cool chaotic factor, though
Depends on what kind of Thanksgiving celebration you're talking about. If it's everyone in Jackson all in one place, that could get a bit chaotic and/or heated after a bit. If it's just people celebrating with their families or extended families, that would probably go somewhat similar to Thanksgiving celebrations now. It would probably be hard to get certain foods and supplies (fruits and vegetables aren't always available), but the town guards would probably figure out a way to rotate patrols so that people could spend time with their loved ones
@EzioAuditoreTheFox Then get yourself an Animus device or a time machine, lol. You're missing out!
I have to agree with Swedgin here, Joel will almost certainly die early in Season 2, although he could still appear in flashbacks. Otherwise, the plot doesn't make sense.
You have a good point about TV audiences being less attached to characters than gamers. I suspect some of that is due to the interactive nature of games, and the amount of time players spend with them as opposed to viewers
That is actually a rather common sentiment among the fanbase, or at least it was the last time this question was asked. I suspect Stalkers are more annoying to more players because they can still see and are harder to hide from than most infected. The mini-boss fights in Part II are probably another reason.
How do you feel about them?
I have to agree with Swedgin here. Joel is a very different character than Ellie. When he gets violent, it's cold, brutal, and calculating. The only times an enemy got under his skin that I can recall are Robert after selling their guns to the Fireflies, and the captured cannibal that taunted him. And we all know how both of those situations ended
The hype train has no brakes! The hype train needs no brakes!!
Then again, I said the same thing about Destiny 2, and it came back to bite me...
@Swedgin Exactly. I don't see Isaac as a racist either, largely for the reasons you mentioned. The Seraphites also seem to have a variety of ethnic backgrounds, and their war seems to have more to do with resources and power than racial hatred.
The xenophobic angle of the WLF does seem to be a recent development, as you said. They may have thought Tommy, Ellie, and Jesse were scouts for a larger force. Especially with the Salt Lake Crew having recently returned from their little away mission (need to rest and resupply/reequip before going up against the Seraphites like usual), the WLF's distrust of outsiders is understandable to a point.
@Shadow The Hedgehog MTM If you mean the post above yours, that looks like a spammer. The admins and mods around here are usually pretty quick about catching and removing those, but feel free to contact an admin if you see more of it later
Ooh, nice! Love me some concept art!
While you raise a good point, the games and the streaming series are not in the same timeline. In the game, the initial outbreak happened in 2013, and it is unknown how many FEDRA -controlled quarantine zones are still active, but we see a former FEDRA QZ in Pittsburgh.
In the streaming series, the outbreak happens in 2003, 10 years earlier. Boston appears to be a lot more functional than it was in the games, and Kansas City replaces the Pittsburgh QZ.
I think that there could be at least a few QZs still under FEDRA control in places like Washington DC and maybe Atlanta, Georgia.
Good points! I was pretty excited when I first saw the trailer, but I had forgotten about Esther. I suspect either Joel confesses his actions to a few people in the show, or what we saw could be part of a nightmare sequence for him. Something about the actor's portrayal of Esther seemed a bit too... amplified
