9mm Pistol

The 9mm Pistol is a weapon and belongs to the handgun group.

Overview

The 9mm is a compact handgun. While it is weaker than the revolver it has less recoil which allows for faster, more accurate follow up shots. The 9mm can be used in the The Last of Us demo, containing four rounds and however many you pick up after that.

The 9mm was first seen in actual gameplay in the subway trailer when Joel threw a molotov at a Clicker and then finished it off with the 9mm.

In-Game Appearances

The 9mm Pistol is one of the most common firearms in the game. It's the first weapon collected in the Boston Quarantine Zone, taken from Joel and Tess's hideout on the way to kill Robert.

Trivia

• The 9mm pistol used by Joel appears to be modeled after a Colt Defender with a 3 inch bushingless barrel and wood or brown synthetic grips. It had been seen in trailers with both stainless and blued finishes. A .45 version of the Defender is the base weapon used by Nathan Drake in Uncharted 2 and 3.
• Ellie uses a different model based on the Beretta Model 70, which is actually chambered in .32 ACP. A similar, all black version is used by the military.
• In Multiplayer, after upgrading the gun once, the barrel seems to be longer, turning it into a Colt 1911.
• Ellie is shown cocking a 9mm pistol in The Last of Us story trailer in a cinematic but was not shown in the final game
