Behind the scenes[]

  • The ending shot of the open window in Bill and Frank's bedroom is a reference to the open window from the main menu of the game. Originally, Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann considered opening every episode with a different view of a unique open window to represent the feeling of hope and loss players may associate with the image, and replace the "Skip Intro" button that appears on streaming services with "Press Play" in a nod to the game. Although different shots of an open window were filmed during production (including the one used in this episode), the concept was eventually dropped as the co-creators decided it would not really work.[2]
