Hello. Active editors will have noticed that we currently have achievements enabled on the wiki. Achievements are intended to reward good editing practices and promote friendly competition among editors.
However, there are drawbacks to achievements. Occasionally, editors will make heaps of unnecessary and harmful edits in order to boost their position on the leaderboard, and it's debatable that the whole system defeats the quality vs. quantity ideals that a wiki should be built around.
As a result, we are opening this poll for editors to decide whether achievements should be kept or not. In order to vote, you must:
- Have a wiki account that was created on or before Friday, July 12th 2013.
- Have made at least 10 edits with that account.
This should let all active wiki editors vote, and remove any potential "rigging" by unregistered voters. Please note that if you do not have a wiki account, you will not be eligible to vote as you can not receive achievements.
To vote, simply comment below with either "Keep" if you want achievements to stay or "Remove" if you want them to go.
Please use this thread for voting only. Any questions or comments should be left here. Thanks.
Edit: Voting will end 17 July at 00:00:00 (UTC).
