Bryan is a minor character in the first season of HBO's The Last of Us.[1]
Biography[]
Background[]
Bryan was a survivor of the initial Cordyceps brain infection pandemic and lived in the Kansas City quarantine zone. While living there, the FEDRA government was overthrown by a revolutionary movement led by Kathleen Coghlan. Bryan joined the group at some point and spent his time monitoring the highway, checking for any passing travelers to ambush and rob.[1]
Events of HBO's The Last of Us[]
In the late-summer or autumn of 2023, Bryan and several other revolutionaries attacked the group of two passersby, Joel and Ellie in a pickup truck, intent on killing them and stealing their supplies. During the shootout, Bryan flanked the outsiders as Joel shot his two allies dead, sneaking up and attacking Joel from behind. He pinned him to the ground, choking him with his rifle before Ellie shot him with her pistol.
Bryan pleaded for his life, apologizing for attacking the pair and promising they could become friends and trade supplies while crying for his mother. He even tossed his knife to Joel as a peace offering. Despite his pleas, Joel used Bryan's knife to kill him.
Later, more revolutionaries arrived and returned Bryan's body to his family. His father held his hand and mourned him.[1]
