The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) is an organization mentioned in The Last of Us and The Last of Us Part II.
They are a government agency that specialized in studying and containing the spread of the Cordyceps brain infection. It is one of the last known active branches of the pre-outbreak United States government, alongside the Federal Disaster Response Agency.
The CDC produced a document for civilians which outlined the stages of infection and how to notice the symptoms.[1] Joel optionally acquires the decaying pamphlet while traversing through the outskirts of Boston with Tess and Ellie.[2]
When roaming around Seattle, Ellie can find one of these documents near the quarantine zones perimeter gate.[3]
