Constance is a supporting character in the second season of HBO's The Last of Us. She was a young girl and the daughter of Jacob, both of whom were members of the Seraphites living in Seattle, Washington.

Biography

Background

Not much is known about Constance's background, except that she was born after the Cordyceps brain infection outbreak to a Seraphite father named Jacob. She was raised among the Seraphites in Seattle, Washington, where she adopted their beliefs and customs, learning about their prophet through the teachings of Ezra. By 2029, Constance, her father, and a small group of followers broke away from the main sect, forming a splinter group with the goal of fleeing Seattle and escaping the escalating conflict between the Seraphites and the Washington Liberation Front (WLF).

Events of HBO's The Last of Us

Season 2

In April 2029, Constance walked with her father and the rest of their splinter group along the path leading out of Seattle. She accurately decoded the whistled signals he used to communicate with a scout positioned at the rear of their group and listened as he shared his understanding of the Seraphites' prophet. During the walk, she asked if she could have one of the hammers he was carrying; he handed it to her and asked if she felt safe, to which she responded affirmatively. Shortly after, the scout signaled that danger was approaching. Constance's father quickly pulled her into hiding beneath a fallen log in the forest. When she asked if the threat was "demons", he replied that it was "Wolves".

Sometime later, during Ellie Williams and Dina's arrival in Seattle, they rode down the same path on Shimmer and discovered the bodies of Constance, her father, and the rest of their group, all of whom had been shot to death. Dina vomited in response, while Ellie concluded that the WLF was responsible for the killings.
