- Dina will be portrayed by Peruvian-American actress and singer Isabela Merced. Her casting was officially announced by HBO and Naughty Dog on January 11, 2024.[1]
- In the sixth episode of the first season, "Kin", Ellie notices a girl (played by Paolina van Kleef) staring at her from across the dining hall in Jackson and tells her off. Co-creators Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann confirmed the scene is a reference to Dina's story from The Last of Us Part II about when she first saw Ellie, although they avoided confirming if the character is meant to be Dina.[2]
