Background

Not much is known about Dominique's background, except that they are a survivor of the Cordyceps brain infection outbreak who eventually joined the community of survivors living in Jackson, Wyoming. Dominique owned a shotgun holster, which they later traded to Ellie Williams in exchange for her old boots.

Season 2

On December 31, 2028, when Dina arrives at Ellie's house to pick her up for their Alpine patrol run, she comments on Ellie's holster as she prepares to head out. Dina asks where she got it, to which Ellie replies that she traded her old boots to Dominique for it. Realizing Ellie is about to wear canvas sneakers in the snow, Dina sarcastically suggests she should have kept the boots, implying that Ellie's trade with Dominique was unfavorable.
