Sergeant Elise Park is a supporting character in the second season of HBO's The Last of Us.[1] She is a soldier serving for the Washington Liberation Front in Seattle, Washington.
Biography[]
Background and early life[]
Little is known about Elise except that she was a survivor of the Cordyceps brain infection outbreak. She lived in the Seattle quarantine zone under FEDRA's control. However, she hated their oppressive rule and joined the WLF resistance to overthrow them. She also had a son, Leon Park, who served as the best soldier in her unit. She eventually reached the rank of sergeant within the WLF.[2]

Season 2[]
Before April 2029, the latest truce with the Seraphites broke and the WLF were once more at war with them. Hanrahan ordered Elise's unit to clear Lakehill Seattle hospital out to prepare it as a base to use in the war. Elise's unit did so, clearing everywhere except the basement levels: B1, B2 and B3. An older member of Elise's unit suspected they had not been searched since the hospital was quarantined shortly after outbreak day. She sent her son Leon and his squad to clear B1 anyway but they found it completely deserted. The following day, she gave them permission to clear B2. When they did so, Leon radioed back that they had discovered a mass of Cordyceps all over the corridors but that it was airborne, emitted by spores from the trapped patients. Scared it could get out of the hospital and kill all of the WLF, Elise made the difficult decision to lock Leon and the others in the basement, barricading the two doors to B2 and B3. Hanrahan learned of this and questioned Elise to learn why she did so. Upon learning how severe the spores were, she decreed Elise a hero and expressed her sympathies for losing Leon to the infection.[2]
Two days later, she was called to Isaac's tent during preparations for the WLF's invasion of the Seraphites' island. Inside, she informed him that Abby Anderson was still missing, as were Mel and Owen. Isaac was disappointed with this news, leading Elise to reveal Manny was still out on patrol. Isaac dismissed her words though, remarking Abby was the only one that mattered. Elise then presumed that Isaac was in love with Abby, despite his large age gap with her. However, Isaac revealed he believed he and Elise would die in their attack on the Seraphites that night and that he needed Abby to succeed him as the WLF's leader.[3]
