Evacuation leaflet is the eleventh collectible artifact, and the fourteenth collectible overall, in The Last of Us. It is found during the "Downtown" section of the third chapter, "The Outskirts".[1]

Description[]

A leaflet produced by the Federal Disaster Response Agency (FEDRA) sometime after the Cordyceps brain infection outbreak, warning the residents of Boston of a then-upcoming saturation bombing being conducted by the military. The top of the leaflet reads "Warning" in large letters and features the silhouettes of five bombs below it. At the bottom is a warning to Boston residents, notifying them of the saturation bombing taking place in areas of the city outside the quarantine zone in an attempt to eradicate any infected in the area. Residents were given 48 hours to evacuate the city's limits before the bombardment began, as FEDRA was not accepting new residents into the quarantine zone at the time.[1]

As mentioned by Tess, the bombing only worked temporarily, as the infection continued to spread until more infected began populating the area.

Acquisition[]

After evading the FEDRA patrols through a sewage tunnel and reaching downtown Boston, a cinematic plays where Ellie explains Marlene's plan to Tess and Joel, saying that the Fireflies have a quarantine zone with doctors attempting to find a cure and that she may be the key to creating a vaccine. Tess convinces Joel to go through with the deal as the three continue making their way to the capitol building. Once the player assumes control of Joel, follow Tess and Ellie and climb the collapsed street into downtown Boston, where Tess and Ellie share a conversation about the military's bombing of the surrounding areas. On the right side of the street, lying on the ground next to the base of a traffic light that a car crashed into, is the leaflet.[1]

WARNING

THE AREA IMMEDIATELY OUTSIDE THE BOSTON QUARANTINE ZONE WILL BE SUBJECTED TO SATURATION BOMBING IN THE NEXT 48 HOURS TO ELIMINATE ANY THREAT OF INFECTED

All residents of this area have until 48 hours from this notice's posting to evacuate the Boston city limits. No one will be allowed into the Quarantine Zone, we are not accepting new residents at this time.

THERE WILL BE NO FURTHER WARNINGS. FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY YOU MUST CLEAR THE AREA

Related dialogue[]

After climbing onto the street, Ellie will ask about the state of the area, to which Tess will respond with a summary of what the leaflet describes. Finding the artifact is not necessary to hear the dialogue.

Ellie: So, what happened here?
Tess: They bombed the hell out of the surrounding areas to the quarantine zones, hoping to kill as much of the infected as possible. It worked, for a little while.
