Ezra is a character mentioned in The Last of Us Part I. All that is known about him comes from a note found by Joel.[1]

Background[]
Not much is known about Ezra before the Cordyceps brain infection outbreak, except that he was a resident of Lincoln along with his partner Rachel. While the military did force him to evacuate, he waited for her as long as he could, packed up some of their things, and left a note telling her to find him in the quarantine zone.[2]
Events of The Last of Us Part I[]
In the summer of 2033, Joel and Ellie find Ezra's note for Rachel. Ellie remarked how she hoped they found each other though Joel remained apathetic regarding their issues.[1]
