Kevin was born on April 3, 2000, to Maria Miller and an unnamed father. He lived in Omaha, Nebraska, with his mother while she worked as an assistant district attorney.
Only a few days into the Cordyceps brain infection outbreak, on September 29, 2003, Kevin died at the age of three due to unknown circumstances. Tommy Miller later created a small memorial for Kevin and Sarah—Joel's daughter—above the fireplace at his and Maria's home in Jackson, Wyoming.[1]

During the winter of 2023, Ellie Williams notices the memorial for Kevin and Sarah while at Maria and Tommy's house. Later, when Maria is giving Ellie a haircut, Ellie apologizes for the loss of her kids, mistaking Sarah as her own. Maria quickly clarifies that only Kevin was her child and that Sarah was Joel's daughter.[1]
