Malcolm is a supporting character in the second season of HBO's The Last of Us. He was a Seraphite who, after being captured by the Washington Liberation Front (WLF), was interrogated, tortured, and ultimately executed by Isaac Dixon.[1]
Biography[]
Background[]
Not much is known about Malcolm's background, except that he was a survivor of the Cordyceps brain infection outbreak and had become a devoted member of the Seraphites by 2029, living in Seattle, Washington. He was a young man, lacking knowledge of the world before the outbreak, to the extent he didn't know any store names or companies that exist in 2003. He fought in the war against the Washington Liberation Front before being captured following a skirmish in which he shot a young boy in the head with a bow and arrow.[1]

Season 2[]
After being captured by the WLF, Malcolm was chained naked to a wall and interrogated by their commander, Isaac Dixon, who tortured him with a heated copper pan. Despite the pain, Malcolm refused to reveal the location of the next Seraphite attack. Instead, he insisted that the Seraphites would ultimately win the war, claiming that WLF soldiers were defecting to their side on a daily basis. Clinging to his faith through prayer to his prophet, Malcolm continued to resist, even going so far as to offer his hand for Isaac to burn further. After refusing to cooperate further, an exasperated Isaac drew his pistol and summarily executed him.[1]
Physical appearance[]
Malcolm was a young, skinny man with fair skin, blue eyes, and a brown buzz cut, styled in accordance with Seraphite customs. He bore the group's signature Glasgow smile—scars running from the corners of his mouth to his ears. After being tortured, his body and head were covered in bruises and cuts, while also having a heavy burn mark on the top of his right hand.[1]
