Biography[]
Background[]
Miguel was a survivor who managed to make it to the Boston quarantine zone after the outbreak of the Cordyceps brain infection. He starting working as a smuggler in the city, operating out of an apartment complex on the corner of Stillman and Cross. As a smuggler, he became notorious among the community, with his name known by other smugglers such as Robert, Tess, and Joel Miller.
At some point before the summer of 2023, FEDRA learned of Miguel's actions and had the building locked off and condemned by falsely claiming it was infected with the Cordyceps infection.[1]
Events of HBO's The Last of Us[]
After bribing one of Robert's associates for his location, Tess mentions how Miguel's hideout is now inaccessible because of FEDRA's decision to have it "red-tagged". However, she knew Miguel used a secret passage through the abandoned subway maintenance tunnels to lead directly inside his hideout without being seen, which they can use.[1]
