The Miller residence is a minor location in HBO's The Last of Us. It was the home of Joel and Sarah Miller, located in Austin, Texas.

History

Background

Before Outbreak Day, Joel and Sarah Miller both lived at this residence, situated in a cul-de-sac at a short drive from Austin, Texas. The house had a driveway, a garage, at least two bedrooms, along with a kitchen and dining room.

Events of HBO's The Last of Us

Joel and Sarah ate breakfast in the house on the day of the Cordyceps brain infection outbreak, with Joel's brother Tommy meeting them there. That night, Joel came home as Sarah was watching television, and she gave him his birthday presents: his repaired watch, and a movie to watch. While watching the film with Sarah, who had already fallen asleep, Joel got a phone call from Tommy, who had been arrested and was in jail. Joel put Sarah to bed and left the house to bail Tommy out. Later, after waking up, Sarah left the house to go next door to the Adler residence, only to find that the residents inside had become infected. Joel and Tommy then arrived, rescuing Sarah and fleeing the residence to try to escape the area in Tommy's pickup truck.
