The PlayStation 4 Photo & Movie Share Contest was a contest in Japan hosted by Sony Computer Entertainment in 2014 to promote The Last of Us Remastered. It included three categories "Best Shot", "Best Play" and "Trailer" which participants could enter for the chance to win an exclusive PS4 bay cover and a ¥30,000 PlayStation Store card.[1]
Format[]
The contest was open to residents of Japan and ran from November 26 to December 8, 2014. Participants could enter as many times and in as many categories as they wanted. Regardless of category, participants has to follow @PS4_Share_Campa on Twitter to be eligible to win prizes. Judging was provided by voice actress Megumi Han (Ellie's Japanese voice), film director Yudai Yamaguchi, and YouTuber Younger Brother. Preliminary screening results were published on December 17 and the winners were announced on December 19. The judges each picked one winner from each category, for a total of nine winners.[1]
Best Shot category[]
Participants were directed to capture screenshots from The Last of Us Remastered using Photo Mode and then upload them to Twitter using the PS4 SHAREfactory with the hashtag #PS4シェアコンテスト_ベストショット (in English: #PS4ShareContest_BestShot).[1]
Best Play and Trailer categories[]
Participants were directed to capture gameplay from The Last of Us Remastered on the PS4 and edit the footage using the PS4 SHAREfactory. The footage, limited to 90 seconds, could then be uploaded to YouTube and the link shared on Twitter with either of the following hashtags: #PS4シェアコンテスト_ベストプレイ (in English: #PS4ShareContest_BestPlay) or #PS4シェアコンテスト_トレーラー (in English: #PS4ShareContest_Trailer). "Best Play" entries would focus on showing off gameplay, whereas "Trailer" entries were fan-made trailers.[1]
