Biography[]
Background[]
Before 1968, Schoenheiss became an epidemiologist. He became skilled in the profession, enough that he was invited to take part in a late night talk show in 1968, alongside Dr. Neuman.[1]
Events of HBO's The Last of Us[]
While on the talk show, Schoenheiss disagreed with Neuman that fungus was the thing man should fear most, countering that it was actually influenza. He explained how it worked to kill its hosts and could now travel quickly given humans were now traveling across the world via airplanes. He sat back and listened as Neuman offered his counter-argument before the host cut to a commercial break.
In 2003, Schoenheiss' theory was suddenly proven wrong as the Cordyceps brain infection, not influenza, caused humanity's downfall.[1]
Appearance[]
Schoenheiss was a tall man wearing a smart suit with a white striped tie. He also wore glasses.[1]
Personality[]
Schoenheiss was a serious man, sitting up straight and spoke sternly in proposition that his argument for influenza being mankind's greatest threat was correct. He was also polite, allowing Neuman to express his countering thoughts without interrupting him.[1]
