"Seattle Day 2" is the seventh chapter of The Last of Us Part II. It contains the sections "The Shortcut", "The Descent", "Ground Zero", and "Return to the Aquarium".

Plot

The Shortcut

Abby and Lev exit the aquarium and proceed back into the city. Lev reveals he knows the way to the bridges the Seraphites have built amongst the skyscrapers. Along the way, the pair are attacked by a group of Seraphites, who called Lev "Lily". After defeating the group, Abby asks Lev if he wants to talk about them calling him a different name, but he refuses.

While climbing a building, the pair discuss the WLF's war with the Seraphites, with each offering a different account as to why the Seraphite Prophet started the war. Eventually, they reach an elevator and use it to ascend to the highest level. They then fight through more Seraphites and reach the bridge area. Lev starts crossing it, but Abby struggles, her fear of heights deterring her. However, she is able to make it most of the way across, only to slip by the last few steps. Lev attempts to stop her falling, only for both to crash down through a glass roof and into a swimming pool. The pair surmise they are in a derelict hotel. The pool of water breaks their fall but now forces them to descend by foot through the hotel, rather than with the elevator.

The Descent

The pair begin to descend the hotel stairs, using a rope to get through a deep hole in the ground. However, they realize the building is nested with spores and infected. Lev reveals he does not have a gas mask, so Abby uses hers to enter a spore-infested floor of rooms to search for a mask for him.

She finds the floor was once occupied by soldiers who tried to destroy the building but failed and were later killed by stalkers. She finds a working FEDRA gas mask and takes it. However, while trying to return to Lev, the stalkers in the area attack her, but she manages to defeat them.

Abby returns to Lev and puts the gas mask on his head for him to use. The pair then enter the next level and continue their descent, pushing through clickers and stalkers as they do. They soon reach another dead soldier who possessed a flamethrower. Abby takes the weapon to use herself. They then enter the next room and fight against numerous clickers, stalkers and even a bloater. Once through, they reach the lowest level and make it outside.

The Lakehill Seattle Hospital now in sight, Abby implores Lev to hide while she enters the hospital through the gates as a member of the WLF to collect the supplies. Abby does so, but is soon apprehended by guards, whom Isaac has informed about her fleeing from the forward operating base.

Ground Zero

The scene then cuts to Abby handcuffed to an elevator, where she has been detained until the WLF can return her to Isaac. Abby shouts for someone to release her. Nora then arrives, uncuffing her, revealing Isaac has apparently interrogated her and Abby's friends for information about her. Abby reveals she needs to get medical supplies to Mel and Owen at the aquarium. Nora agrees to help her, showing Abby to an entrance to the Seattle basement where she suspects supplies that the WLF haven't found remain. Abby thanks Nora and proceeds into the basement, alone.

Abby searches the floor, finding FEDRA soldiers had come down here years prior to retrieve research data on the first ever infected patients but were killed. Abby begins to turn on the power in the area to open the secured doors so she can search further on the floor. However, doing so also opens the containment rooms where infected patients are still present, notably many clickers. Abby jokes that she wishes Manny Alvarez was there to help her. She sneaks through them and finds one room has been completely overtaken with spores and fungus, the infected present in this room appearing to have merged together over the years. However, the infected within it has disappeared, having escaped.

Abby then proceeds to the basement parking lot, where she finds an ambulance. She breaks inside and searches it, finding a complete surgical kit within it still untouched. However, giant footsteps begin to erupt around her. She freezes looking round to the source of the noise as it reaches the back of the ambulance. It is the rat king, the gargantuan infected that is an amalgamation of several infected patients fused together.

Crying out, Abby dodges its attack and flees from the parking lot, back into the hospital area. The rat king gives chase, slamming through doors and walls as Abby dodges its strikes. Abby reaches a door closed by a fire hatchet. She removes the hatchet but the rat king reaches her, grabbing and lifting her into the air. Abby strikes at it within the hatchet, but it does little damage; the floor suddenly gives into the rat king's sheer weight, sending the pair crashing down into the flooded surgery rooms. With no choice, Abby draws her weapons and fights the rat king.

The rat king charges at her relentlessly, slamming through the doors and walls as Abby unloads all her weapons into the beast. Eventually, the rat king cries out and one of its pieces breaks off into a stalker variant that hides in the shadows and attempts to strike her by surprise. Still, Abby fires on the rat king, and it finally goes down, defeated and dead.

Relieved, Abby begins to exit the area, but finds the stalker variant is still alive. With little choice, she follows it through a ventilation shaft, where it leaps out and attacks her, sending them both tumbling into a flooded laboratory area. This stalker variant is able to throw spores at her like a bloater, but Abby manages to also defeat it.

With all of the infected now defeated, Abby exits the laboratory area and finds her way to the outside area. Someone jumps on her from behind, whom Abby throws off and prepares to strike, but finds it is Lev. He reveals the WLF are on a high alert and asks her where she has been. Abby reveals she has found the medical supplies and says they must return to the aquarium. They find a small boat and use it to travel along the water back to Mel and Owen.

Return to the Aquarium

Abby and Lev return from the hospital with the medical supplies. Abby gives them to Mel, who proceeds to use them to amputate Yara's arm. Abby and Lev wait outside with Bear, where Abby convinces Lev to pet the dog. Soon, Owen comes out and joins them, revealing Lev can see Yara now. Lev enters the operating room while Owen sits on a chair beside Abby.

Abby wonders why she and Owen no longer share the joy and positive outlook on life that the Seraphite children have; Owen surmises that, since joining the WLF, they have "stopped looking for the light". Mel then appears and confirms the pair can also check on Yara. Abby does so, finding Yara well and in a much better condition. Yara thanks her for what she has done for her.

Seraphite truce	The Shortcut	When Lev hops over some rusted metal bars, you'll have to go through a door on the left to enter a room with many computer desks. This note is located on a desk to the right.
Seraphite orders	The Shortcut	After rising the long elevator ride to the top, when exiting the elevator, this note is on the wall before the next room.
Gym safe code	The Descent	Look for "Orchards Juice Bar" by the gym. Check the pinboard in the office behind the counter to collect this code.
FEDRA orders	The Descent	This is automatically acquired by Abby when she exits the fitness studio.
FEDRA final note	The Descent	After using the fire hose to rappel down a few floors, check the first side room on the right to collect this note from the floor next to a corpse.
Annex letter	Ground Zero	Shortly after Abby splits up from Nora, you will reach a staircase. Before heading down it, crawl under some rubble to the right to enter another room. This letter is found on the floor inside.
Soldier's letter	Ground Zero	Head down the first staircase after separating from Nora and drop down to the floor below. To the right, there is a corpse stuck in a revolving door. The letter on a brown bag near it.
Chapel note	Ground Zero	When coming towards the first yellow door, turn around and enter another door into a chapel. This document is on the altar.
Patient's note	Ground Zero	Go through the yellow door and the quarantine tunnel behind it. In the area that follows, break the windows to enter the second room on the right. Once you climb inside, you can grab the note off a stretcher with a corpse.
Doctor's note	Ground Zero	Once you reach the area labeled "Surgery", the artifact is on a desk within the second room.

Coins

"Seattle Day 2" contains the following nine coins:

Nevada	The Shortcut	This coin is found in the barbershop known as "Franklin's Barber" found in the flooded area where a small waterfall is situated. Inside the barber, the coin is behind the cash register.
Colorado	The Shortcut	After leaving the phone shop, Abby must jump over the isles in the river again. At the other end is a building. Enter the building and turn right to jump through a window on the outside roof. At the end of that roof is the coin.
Illinois	The Descent	At the very start of the chapter, after the cutscene of Abby and Lev crashing into the swimming pool finishes, re-enter the pool and dive to the bottom to find a coin on the floor.
Oregon	The Descent	After progressing through the story-path to reach the area where shamblers and clickers are located (encountered after obtaining the flamethrower), locate a long metal beam. Walk across it and then jump one floor down. There will be a stalker stuck to the wall nearby. Once the stalker is dealt with, turn around and jump into a room. The coin is inside on the right.
Wisconsin	The Descent	After progressing to another infected room and killing or sneaking past them, Abby and Lev will proceed down an elevator shaft. Upon exiting it, there will be a vending machine on the left. Smash the glass window of the vending machine and a coin will fall out its coin dispenser.
Rhode Island	The Descent	After Abby and Lev reach the outside plaza and remove their gas masks, there will be a bar nearby. A coin is at the cash register behind the bar counter.
Missouri	The Descent	After the cutscene plays where Abby is allowed inside the hospital grounds, turn right and head into the building past the tall grass. A coin will be found at the end of the hall. Ensure this is collected before entering the main hospital area as a cutscene will play upon encountering Whitney that will prevent this area being revisited.
Washington	Ground Zero	After walking down the first staircase during this chapter, at the bottom, there will be a counter behind it that the coin is on.
Hawaii	Ground Zero	After the Rat King boss fight, Abby will enter a flooded garage. Turn to the left for a small security guard house. Smash its windows to find the coin inside.
