Not really a wikipedian, but have knowledge on Gas masks and viruses.

The Gas Spores would have to be fairly large, as a standard filter couldn't prevent viruses (less than 0.001 micron) from entering the mask. Also due to the abuse he gives the mask (swiming underwater) and the fact he never changes the fitler, it could be believed it's just the basic elements in it defending against the spores rather than any active ingredients (example: activae charcoal powder).

Perhaps it only the filter, it would make sense. I looked around a little and found that viruses are around 0.05-0.3 microns in size, while mold spores are 10-30 microns (source: While imagine there would be some considerable variation in the spores of Codyceps, (the spores in game being visible to the naked eye en masse) it does give you a decent idea as to scale. Echo666 (talk) 13:58, June 24, 2013 (UTC)

On the percentage of humanity CBI has wiped out?Edit

Last I checked, 60% of humanity had been killed off or infected by cordyceps, but the number's been jumping around and now the article reads .001%. Could someone verify what the actual number is? I don't remember where/if it was mentioned in the game - was it the intro credits or that CBI Safety Pamphlet? I'm not sure. - Karen (talk) * (profile) 08:43, July 3, 2013 (UTC)

Not sure where it was mentioned either, but anytime I've heard a figure, it's been 60%. The person who changed it to .001 seemed to be vandalising the page. Anyway, one of the Wikia staff members has reverted it back to the proper version. --Klock101 (talk) 21:39, July 3, 2013 (UTC)
I've been looking through all the artifacts and I figured it out, it's mentioned in the Newspaper Clipping. I'll add it as a reference. - Karen (talk) * (profile) 22:28, July 5, 2013 (UTC)
Awesome. --Klock101 (talk) 15:47, July 6, 2013 (UTC)
