The Last of Us Day 2019 (formerly Outbreak Day 2019) was the 7th annual The Last of Us Day celebration hosted by Naughty Dog. It occurred on September 26, 2019, two days after the release of the Release Date Reveal Trailer for The Last of Us Part II. In addition to the content released by Sony and Naughty Dog, new The Last of Us themed content was also released in collaboration with Dark Horse.

The Last of Us Part II - Inside the Demo[]
At a press event in Los Angeles, on September 24, Naughty Dog gave journalist the opportunity to play two levels of The Last of Us Part II. Two days later, on The Last of Us Day, videos featuring the journalist impressions and game play footage from the demo were released online.[1] At the same time, Naughty Dog released a a video titled The Last of Us Part II - Inside the Demo which featured commentary from Neil Druckmann, Anthony Newman, Halley Gross, and Kurt Margenau who provided additional details about the story and gameplay featured in the two demo levels.[2][3]
The Last of Us Part II Grunge Theme (PS4 System Theme)[]
Available for free on the PlayStation Store, Naughty Dog released a PS4 dynamic system theme. The Last of Us Part II Grunge Theme features a stylized Ellie with animated effects and new music from the game.[2] The theme released with a file size of 27.92 MB.[4]
The Last of Us Part II Ellie Cosplay Guide[]
To show appreciation to the cosplay community, Naughty Dog released an extensive Ellie Cosplay Guide. The downloadable PDF features high-resolution renders of every facet of Ellie’s design, including detailed shots of her clothing, weapons, equipment, and hairstyle.[2][5]
Photo Mode Contest[]

The 2019 Photo Mode Contest was announced on The Last of Us Day. The contest ran from October 1 to November 1, 2019, with a winner being chosen every Friday. The contest was open to residents of the United States (excluding Arizona) and Canada (excluding Quebec). Winning participants would receive limited edition posters from the previous three years' The Last of Us Day.[2]
Other Content[]
A new collection of The Last of Us Part II themed items debuted on the PlayStation Gear Store including graphic tees featuring Joel and Ellie, logo tees, and a logo hat. Additionally, all existing The Last of Us and The Last of Us Part II products on the PlayStation Gear Store were 20% off from September 26 to September 29. On the PlayStation Store, all existing The Last of Us Part II PS4 system themes and avatars where 50% off from September 26 to October 1.[2]

The Last of Us Part II Ellie Statue by Dark Horse[]
In collaboration with Dark Horse, a limited edition statue of Ellie from The Last of Us Part II was made available. The 12 inch tall polyresin statue, featuring Ellie with a bow, was sculpted by artist at Naughty Dog and painted by Gentle Giant Studios. Each statue was bundled with a 10 inch round base with a relief of The Last of Us Part II logo and a certificate of authenticity. Limited to 500 units, the statue was available for preorder starting that day at a price of $179.99.[6][7]
On February 11, 2020, Dark Horse announced that due to overwhelming demand for the Ellie statue, a second polyresin statue of Ellie would be created with a time-limited run. Like the original, the statue was sculpted by Naughty Dog and painted by Gentle Giant Studios. The statue also featured a similar round base with a relief of The Last of Us Part II logo and was also bundled with a certificate of authenticity. The second statue featured Ellie wielding a machete, and was overall smaller than the original at 8 inches tall. The statue was made available at a price of $99.99 and available to pre-order from February 11 through March 13, 2020.[8][9] Additionally, Dark Horse released an 8 inch PVC version of the “Ellie with Bow” statue, which was available at participating retailers in the summer of 2020. The Art of The Last of Us Part II by Dark Horse[]

In collaboration with Dark horse, an art book featuring concept art and character designs from The Last of Us Part II was produced. The Art of The Last of Us Part II was announced on The Last of Us Day and made available for preorder starting on September 30. The book was originally slated for release on March 3, 2020, but was delayed along with the game.[2][7] The book would ultimately be released on June 24, 2020.[11]

- The Art of The Last of Us Part II is the second art book produced by Dark Horse for The Last of Us. The first being The Art of The Last of Us which covered the original game.[12]
- Dark Horse would later cite the popularity of both Ellie statues as a motivating factor for the creation of an Abby statue, which was released as part of the line-up for The Last of Us Part II's first anniversary celebration.[13]
