  • There should be maybe three or maybe 25 (smaller town quaratines) left in the entire country. I know there is barely any information on other quarantine zones but Boston can't be the only one.

    • Denver and Atlanta are also mentioned as reporting in with military control still active. Atlanta also seems to be the closest thing to a capital as high ranking officers retreat to there even from across the country.

    • Actually, the Boston page mentions that it is one of the last operational Quarantine Zones in the country. On the Quarantine Zones page, we've managed to piece together that at least 3 QZs are still under military control, and more or less functioning.

Also, QZs tend to be established around important resources and easily-defendable locations, like the waterfront in Boston. It wouldn't make too much sense to have a QZ out in the middle of nowhere, as there wouldn't be much of a civilian population to protect.

    • The fourth quarantine zone could be the San Fransisco Quarantine or it might have fallen to the fire flies. Did a doctor come from there?

Yes. However, the Snipers' Nest Log states that a Firefly biologist came to Salt Lake City from San Fancisco.

Atlanta has a Colonel in it, but Boston is mentioned as having a General.

It's unknown whether the Colonel retreated there from Pittsburgh, or if command literally just shifted to a guy that happened to be in Atlanta for some reason.

    • It is safe to assume that Boston, Atlanta, and Denver are still active.

Chicago and Dallas are solid maybes. The Snipers' Nest Log gave them the "QZ" suffix, and the Fireflies have been moving members and supplies between them.

San Francisco is mentioned too, specifcally as the place where the Firefly biologist came from. The log writer doesn't give the city a "QZ" suffix, so I'd say it's more likely to be Firefly-controlled.

    • I really hope the military sticks around

    • Gotta remember, there is a lot of cities from Hartford, Ct to Los Angles. There are only ten major cities (cities that surpass a million) but three hundred smaller cities (cities that surpass hundred thousand). So it's possible that there could be 100 or 200 operational quarantine zones still left (take with grain of salt).

    • While it is theoretically possible that there could be as many as 100-200 QZs (and there may have been initially), they are usually set up around something important/strategic, like the waterfront in Boston, the bridges in Pittsburgh, or the hospital in Salt Lake City. There also needs to be a sizable civilian population and the military resources to protect them.

We did the math a long time ago, and managed to piece together that there were about 13 Quarantine Zones mentioned in the game.

We managed to gather what scraps of information we could from the game, and infer the rest, but it can be found in better detail here: [[1]].
