V was a resident of Seattle. They worked with Dewey in the engine room of the city's subway. The pair were in a relationship.[2]
Around the time of the Cordyceps brain infection outbreak, Dewey forgot the code for the engine room safe. V knew the code and left their partner a note on a newspaper mentioning FEDRA's discovery of a religious group of survivors outside the quarantine zone.[1] However, V tricked Dewey and left the note on a soda can they had to pick up, but even on that, they only left another half-hint, imploring Dewey to work out the code or else leave V to suspect Dewey is not their ideal partner.[2]

In 2038, Ellie Williams comes across V's notes while escaping a group of shamblers.[3]
